Select the Right Carpenter

Greenville AL carpenter hammering nailCarpenters are highly skilled contractors who work primarily with wood.  These Greenville AL tradesmen are usually licensed and offer a wide range of services related to carpentry and woodworking.  Depending on the job, you may need a general carpenter or a finish carpenter.  A general carpenter is a journeyman who is qualified to complete the majority of residential carpentry work.  A finish carpenter however does the more intricate work, which may include cabinet and furniture making, joinery, and other more refined woodworking projects.  So it is important when choosing a professional carpenter that you select someone who is suited to the specific work you need completed and has the skills and experience to perform the carpentry work to your satisfaction.

Why Hire a Professional Carpenter

Greenville AL carpenter installing cabinets“Carpentry” is a profession and a trade that is regulated and licensed by each State.  It is generally not the type of work that you want to trust to someone who is a general handyman or a “Mister Fixit”.  So when your porch needs mending or your staircase needs replacing, it is very important to enlist the services of a licensed local carpenter in Greenville AL.  Following are just a few of the advantages of hiring a skilled carpenter in your area instead of an unlicensed handyman.

  • Carpenters can get the job done fast and to your satisfaction. When you need a new deck built or a new addition to your home, you want someone who will begin the project promptly and complete the job professionally and on time. You also want someone who will guarantee their work and is licensed and insured for your protection.
  • Carpenters have the experience and skill to handle any job. When it comes to woodworking, a local Greenville AL carpenter has the ability to tackle any job.  You don’t want a handyman who will be building a garage for the first time on your home, or a layman who doesn’t know the first thing about installing cabinets.  Carpenters work as apprentices until they learn all of the skills required through experience to command the title of a Professional Carpenter.
  • Carpenters keep up to date on the latest trends in their profession. As licensed professionals, carpenters keep abreast of the latest developments in their trade.  They take pride in their work and continually stay current on new tools and equipment as well as advanced techniques in carpentry.  This guarantees that you will receive the most up to date service available when you hire a certified Greenville AL carpenter.
  • Carpenters develop long term relationships with their customers. It may seem like an intangible benefit, but once you find a professional licensed carpenter that you trust, it only takes one phone call to address all of your carpentry needs.  You will be in the company’s system for contact information as well as any previous services performed, and you will receive priority treatment as a valued customer.  No need to find someone new the next time a stair railing needs replacement or a door needs to be framed and hung.  And since you are in their data base you will receive any special promotions or incentives whenever they are made available to their Greenville AL customers.

If you live in Greenville AL and are in need of affordable carpentry services, following is some interesting and perhaps useful information about your hometown.

Greenville, Alabama

Greenville is a city in Butler County, Alabama, United States. At the 2010 census, the population was 8,135.[3] The city is the county seat of Butler County and is known as the Camellia City. The movement to change the official Alabama state flower from the goldenrod to the camellia originated in Greenville with legislative sponsors LaMont Glass and H.B. Taylor.[4]

Greenville was first settled in 1819. Its original name was Buttsville,[5] but after becoming the county seat in 1822, its name was changed to Greenville, in remembrance of the former locale in South Carolina of many of the original settlers.[6][7] The first county seat was at Fort Dale, a fortification that was named for Sam Dale, who fought to defend the area during the Creek War. The site of Fort Dale lies on the north of the city near the Fort Dale Cemetery, along what is now Alabama Highway 185.

The namesake of the county, Captain William Butler, was killed during the Creek War. He is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, which is across from the oldest church in Butler County, the First United Methodist Church of Greenville.
